We are looking for a Skilled Landscaper with hands-on knowledge and Experience to join our growing Projects team. CPS Grounds Ltd are a leading and well-established Grounds Management company, who also fulfil a range of landscaping and outdoor projects. Working primarily within the education and sports facilities sector, we maintain over 200 schools and sports grounds, as well as hotels, leisure centres, industrial parks grounds and housing estates in the Bristol, Somerset, Bath and South Gloucestershire areas. If you are a creative and practical person with the ability to deliver both functional and beautiful projects, this could be an exciting role for you. About the Role:

Responsible for delivering the varying disciplines of landscape projects the business undertake to include hard and soft landscaping.
You will have skills in hard landscaping to include elements such as wet trades like cement, patio laying and brick or stonework, and ground work skills including being competent using a digger for hard core/aggregate construction, decking and basic carpentry.
You will be carrying out duties such as planting trees and shrubs, turfing, seeding, mulching, topsoil installation, fencing, grass cutting & maintenance and ground preparation at various locations in a predominantly commercial environment.
Delivers projects in a timely and professional manner.
Physical delivery of the projects and assisting with pricing works where necessary.
Good communication skills across team members, external trades, clients and designers.
Maintain in good and safe working order all tools, vehicles, plant, equipment and machinery on site. We’ll maintained tools mean jobs are easier to compete to a high standard.

Desirable Experience:

2 years’ experience within a similar role.
Both hard and soft landscaping experience.
Evidence of previous work i.e. portfolio or pictures etc.
Understanding of health and safety, risk assessments, working in schools around children etc.
Competent with related tools & equipment i.e. digger or dumper driving, hand tools etc.
Trailer licence.

Team Leader/Experienced Groundsman.
Team Leader/Experienced Groundsman, £24-£28,000 (dependant on experience) + 23 days’ holiday + bank holidays + pension + uniform and PPE supplied + training and career development etc..

The Role: We are seeking to appoint an experienced groundsman with a quality and customer focused approach who would like to progress their career in this fast growing and friendly company. Our team is expanding so we are happy to receive applications from Groundsmen / Ground Maintenance Operatives (especially at Team Leader level). Relevant experience is highly preferably but we will also consider recruiting an exceptional candidate as a Trainee Groundsman / Grounds Person.

The Company: CPS Grounds Ltd are a leading and well-established Grounds Management company, who also fulfil a range of landscaping and outdoor projects. Working primarily within the education and sports field sector they maintain over 200 schools and sports grounds, as well as hotels, leisure centres, industrial parks grounds etc. in the Bristol, Somerset, Bath and South Gloucestershire areas.

Location: Based at our North Somerset Depot in Clevedon (BS21). Main office/depot is in Warmley, East Bristol (BS30).

Essential Requirements;

· Grounds maintenance experience; gardening, horticulture, grass cutting, grass care, hedge cutting, border maintenance etc.

· A good team player with excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic with a focus on delivering work of the highest standard

· Physically fit with experience of working in a physically demanding environment.

· An interest in landscaping, sports fields, grounds maintenance, horticulture etc.

· A full UK driving license

· The right to work in the UK

· Willingness to pass a enhanced DBS check

Experience of working as a Groundsman / Grounds Maintenance Operative, with any of the following skills would be highly preferable;

· Sports field maintenance experience; artificial turf, pitch marking, green keeping, gang mowing etc.

· Tractor driving experience

· Experience of using relevant machinery; pedestrian and sit-on, Tractors, Gang Mowers etc.

· Landscaping (hard or soft); fencing, patios, turfing, tree surgery etc.

· Horticulture / technical qualifications

· A PA1/PA6 Pesticide Spraying Licence

· H&S and first aid knowledge

· Supervisory skills (for Team Leader level)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm (Winter hours), 7am-5pm (Summer hours)

The successful applicant will be based from the Bristol Depot. You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of presentation and customer service. With the support of the larger business you will be required to take ownership and responsibility, delivering the highest standards that you, CPS Grounds and our customers can all be proud of.

The successful candidate will be experienced and conscientious. A good team member able to work in various locations (independently or as part of a team) focusing on high standards in;

Sports Field Maintenance

Pitch improvements and renovations

Gang mowing

Pitch marking

Artificial turf

Cricket squares

Athletic tracks and events

Desirable experience;

Demonstrate a solid background and understanding of all sports field operations.

Sports pitch husbandry, renovations and improvement knowledge – be able to advise and assist from initial pitch inspections to establish client needs to carrying out these operations to a high standard.

Assist in managing and developing the improvement of synthetic surfaces.

Experience in setting out initial markings and re marking of all sports pitch facilities, including rugby, football, athletic tracks (straight and oval), rounders, softball, javelin, hard court markings (tennis/netball) etc

Full driving licence.

Enthusiasm in the role and value the standard of work and presentation CPS maintain. A positive “can do” attitude.

Ability to pass an enhanced DBS.

PA1/PA6 Pesticide spraying licence

H&S knowledge

Valid First Aid certificate

Recognised horticultural/technical qualifications would be advantageous.

Trailer licence

Tractor driving experience would also be an advantage.

The successful candidate could be offered between £20,000 and £26,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
